Weaving tapestry slows me down. It is a meditative process. It is easy to loose a sense of time. Weaving and the process demands that I not worry about how long it will take to complete.  A master tapestry weaver can weave one square meter in one month. This goes against the rapid pace of the present view of time. When I studied weaving and design at the Ontario College of Art and Design (a number of years ago), I had no idea that I would return to it many years later. However, the desire to weave has always stayed with me. In 2002 I visited the Cluny Museum of the Middle Ages, in Paris and discovered “The Lady and the Unicorn” tapestries. I have since been researching tapestries in France, Great Britain and Belgium. In 2008 I began weaving again.
